TOUR ITINERARY:

 

Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu & hotel transfer

• Upon arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be greeted by their staff who will escort you to the hotel, where their office staff will give you a brief orientation about the hotel, Kathmandu, trekking, and the do’s and don’ts of the area
• They will also provide an overview of any additional information that you might require while in Nepal, including the next day’s sightseeing tour

Day 2: Guided Sightseeing at Kathmandu Valley

• After your breakfast, you will proceed to Kathmandu Durbar Square, where you will tour the ancient palace, the temple of the Kumari, the living goddess of Nepal, Hanuman Dhoka, and Kasthamandav Temple with a guide knowledgeable about Nepalese history, architecture, and religion
• From there, you will proceed by taxi or bus to the Buddhist site, Swoyambhunath Stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple because of its lively troops of resident monkeys
• You will then visit Pashupatinath Temple, the holiest shrine for Hindus, situated on the banks of the Holy Bagmati River, a popular cremation site
• Before returning to the hotel, you will visit Boudhnath Stupa, a Buddhist pilgrimage center, and home to many colorful gompas, or monasteries
• Once back at the hotel, you will receive a briefing about the trek and have a chance to meet your guides and ask any last-minute questions before the next morning’s departure

Day 3: 1-hour drive to Sundarijal (1460m) & 4-hour trek to Chisapani (2165m)

• Embark on a journey to Sundarijal, located 13 km away from Kathmandu, to begin your trek at an altitude of 1460m. From there, the trail leads through a forested path toward a medieval-looking reservoir, dam, and waterworks. The route then exits the water supply system & ascends steeply to a road at 1550m, which is crossed before continuing the climb to the top of the Shivapuri ridge. This ridge features the first village, Milkshake, a sprawling Tamang settlement located at 1895m. Stop by one of the few small tea shops there to savor a cup of tea while admiring the stunning panoramic view of the Kathmandu Valley. The climb continues after Milkshake, with a steady ascent through the Shivapuri National Park. The Shivapuri ridge is mostly covered by dense forests of pine and oak, with the trail leading downwards through a forest of oak & rhododendron that leads to Chisapani at 2165m.

Day 4: 6-hour trek to Nagarkot (1932m)

• Begin your day with a delicious breakfast before setting off on a leisurely 3-hour trek along flat trails. The path gradually descends for approximately 2 hours until you reach Chowki Bhanjyang, a small village where you will have lunch. Beyond this village, the trail remains mostly flat for another 1.5 hours, followed by a 30-minute ascent to reach the stunning hill station of Nagarkot, located at an elevation of 2175m. From this vantage point, you can admire breathtaking panoramic views of the Himalayas, including five of the world’s tallest mountains such as Mt. Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8516m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Makalu (8463m), Manaslu (8163m), and many other majestic peaks. The beauty of the mountains is particularly striking during sunrise and sunset.

Day 5: 3-hour trek to Changunarayan (1700m) & 1-hour drive to Kathmandu

• Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before embarking on an easy walk to the Changunarayan Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This fifth-century temple is perched atop a hillock located 15km east of Kathmandu and features exquisite artistic works on metal and wood. The temple grounds also house inscriptions dating back to 464 AD, which are the earliest epigraphic evidence of Nepalese history.
• After exploring the temple, return to Kathmandu by car and take some time to relax. In the evening, indulge in a complimentary welcome dinner at one of the finest traditional Nepalese restaurants in Kathmandu, with transportation to and from the hotel provided via taxi or bus.

Day 6: Departure to your country of destination with car drop-off at the airport
