Chuangdixia, known for its architecture and natural beauty, is a village dating from the Ming Dynasty, located in the Mentougou Distcrict in Beijing. A popular tourist attraction well known for its 500 well preserved courtyard homes, Chaungdixia’s architectural identity is defined by stone paved lanes and steep staircases, with many of the courtyard homes having been converted into inns offering food and lodging for travelers. The village is a favorite spot for photographers and painters with a surrounding area full of mountains and trails popular with hikers.
