*Day 1 - Airport / Kandy*

*Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage* - The highlight is the elephants at the bathing hours: at 10.00 am and 2.00 pm daily, they are walked 400 meters to the river Maha Oya. The visitors seated on the steep rocky banks of the river, have the opportunity, to enjoy the sight of the herd bathing and playing at the river. The bathing hours are followed up with the feeding time. Baby elephants are bottle fed. Selected visitors have a chance of bottle feeding milk to the baby elephants.
*Kandy Cultural Show* – Sri Lanka, a country rich with culture & tradition offers a very vibrant and unique show of Sri Lankan traditional dances, in the form of Kandy cultural show. As many as 12 different folk and traditional dances are performed by Kandy lake club dance troop within the span of one hour. The highlight of the show is definitely the fire walking performance.
*Temple of the Tooth Relic* - The Temple of the Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha (Dālada Māligāwa) in Kandy, Sri Lanka is considered the foremost sacred place of worship in the Buddhist world. The tooth relic is an object of great reverence and was enshrined in a series of nested jeweled reliquaries. Some of the highlights are, Royal Palace, Workshop of Golden Weapon, Tunnel (Ambarawa), The Moat (Diya Agala), Bathing Pavilion (Ulpenge) & National Museum (Meda Wasala)
*Nuwara Eliya* – The ‘Little England’ of Sri Lanka, is set against beautiful backdrops of Mountains, Valleys, Waterfalls and Tea Plantations. It is supposed to be one of the coolest places in the Island, but it is really just like an English spring day, although the temperature does drop at night. All around Nuwara Eliya you will see evidence of the British influence, houses like country cottages or Queen Ann style mansions.
*Tea Plantations* - The British introduced tea plantations to Sri Lanka in 1867 and since, the country has become the producer of some of the world’s finest teas, from single origins to mixed fruit blends. Nuwara Eliya has been the capital of the tea industry in Sri Lanka. Experience tea at its best in the salubrious hill country and engage in an instructive glimpse of the manufacture of Ceylon Tea.
*Water Falls* - Few things in the natural world are as awe-inspiring as the sight of water pouring off the side of a high stone ledge and clamoring into a rocky pool beneath. There are number of stunning waterfalls en-route to Nuwara Eliya, offering some excellent photo opportunities and a treat for nature lovers.
*Nuwara Eliya City Tour* – Sightseeing including, Gregory Lake, Queen Victoria Park, Golf Club and Market Place.
*Sri Lankan Cuisine* - Sri Lankan food is not for the timid eater: the fiery curries, sweet caramelized onions, and sour lime pickle are all dominant, powerful flavors that startle awake senses dulled by the thick, hot island air.
*Colombo City Tour* – A drive through the city taking you to the busy commercial areas as well as the tree-lined residential, Cinnamon Gardens. Visit Fort, the former British administrative center and military garrison, Sea Street - the Goldsmith’s quarters in the heart of Pettah, the Bazaar area, where is also a Hindu Temple with elaborate stone carvings and the Dutch Church of Wolfendhal dating back to 1749. The historic Dawatagaha Mosque and the former Eye Hospital are two buildings in Cinnamon Gardens worth looking at. Also visit the BMICH, see the replica of Avukana Buddha and the Independence Square.
*Colombo Shopping Tour* - Visit the Mlesna exquisite tea boutique, cashew nut shop, readymade garments and all sorts at Majestic City. Visit the Lanka Ceramics Centre; a place where you can buy “Noritake Set” or other ceramic items. Also, take a visit to “Odel” at Lipton place as well as the “House of Fashions”.
