A webpage is what people see and interact with on websites and web applications. A web developer will know the importance to have a good understanding of how web pages are constructed.


In this lesson you will learn how HTML and CSS are used to generate and add styling to web pages. We will also look at the software necessary for the creation of these web pages, and discuss some web page templates frequently used to get up and running with quickly.

Widgets are user interface components, which add functionality to web pages. You will find them on nearly every website you visit. They can be as simple as a drop-down menu or as complex as a spreadsheet editor. In this lesson you will learn to create your first widget using javascript.

  • How to add a widget to a web page
  • Using parameters in javascript functions



*Lesson 5: Setting Up a Web Server*

Web servers are used to store all of the content you see online. This includes web pages, backend code, databases and any software needed to run web content. In this lesson you will learn to set up a server on your computer to host your web content using XAMPP.
